Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information the School for Self Ascension collects when you register for a workshop, course or journey, what it is used for, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who is responsible

The School for Self Ascension is run by Manjula Singh in Chennai, India. She is the person responsible for your information and the person you contact about it.

What is collected, and why

Only what is needed to run a workshop and stay in touch about it.

• Your name, to know who is coming, and to put on a certificate.
• Phone number and email, to confirm your place and tell you about changes.
• Postal address, to post certificates or materials where that applies.
• The workshop and date you chose, to hold your place.
• Anything you write in the notes box, whatever you choose to tell us.
• A record of your consent: the date, and which version of the terms you agreed to.

An account with an email address and password is created so you can see your own registrations. Passwords are handled by the sign-in service and are never visible to the school.

What is deliberately not collected

• Card numbers. Never. Payments are made in your own UPI app, or on a payment provider's own secure page. No card details reach this website.
• Health or medical information. The registration form asks you not to enter it. If something matters for a workshop, tell Manjula directly and it is kept privately, offline.
• Identity documents. No PAN, Aadhaar, or passport numbers are collected through this site.
• Tracking. There are no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party trackers, which is why this site has no cookie banner.

Children

Registration through this website is for people aged 18 and over, and you are asked to confirm that. If someone younger would like to take part, please contact Manjula and it will be arranged personally.

How your information is used

• To hold and confirm your place, and to contact you about that workshop.
• To match a payment to your registration.
• To issue a certificate where the training provides one.
• To keep the records any business must keep about what it has sold.

You will only be sent news about future workshops if you tick that separate, optional box. That is a different choice from agreeing to the terms, and you can change your mind at any time by replying to any message or sending a note to the address above.

Who else can see it

Your information is not sold, rented or shared for anyone else's marketing. It is handled by:

• Manjula Singh, who runs the school.
• The hosting and database service that stores the registration securely.
• A payment provider, if you pay through one. They receive what they need to take the payment, and the school never sees your card details.

Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.

How long it is kept

Registration and contact details are kept for three years after your last workshop, then deleted. Records of payments and invoices are kept longer where tax law requires it. If you ask for your information to be deleted sooner, that is done except for anything that must legally be kept.

Your choices

You can ask at any time to:

• see what information is held about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• have your information deleted;
• stop receiving news about future workshops;
• withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Write to archangelg9@gmail.com and you will have a reply. If you are not satisfied with how a request was handled, you may raise it with the relevant data protection authority in India.

Keeping it safe

Information is stored in a database that requires a sign-in to read, and only Manjula's account can see other people's registrations. No system is perfectly secure, but nothing is collected that isn't needed, which is the strongest protection there is.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the version number and date at the top change with it, and the version you agreed to is recorded against your registration, so there is always an answer to what you agreed to.
